Men conversation - small"…storytelling is a dialogue, shared stories create more understanding…and bring people closer together as a community" Peninnah Schram

The Asthma Foundation uses stories to enable people to share their experiences about living with asthma.

    Real people with real stories….

Stories are the glue that connect seemingly different people, providing an empathy that words and facts alone cannot create.

There is nothing more powerful than hearing the story of someone who faces similar challenges to us, and with whom we can relate to, to help us realise we are not alone.

Share your experiences, know you are not alone

The Asthma Foundation greatly values the stories you are willing to share with us. It can help other people living with asthma to know:

    • How asthma impacts on your daily life.
    • What issues you face in terms of managing your asthma.
    • What you have learnt along the way.
    • What advice you would give to others with asthma, or caring for someone with asthma.

Have your voice heard, be a voice for others

We are often approached by the media, seeking stories of people with asthma, to bring real issues to life.

If your asthma is negatively impacted by factors within your local environment (e.g. air pollution, access to healthcare), and you want to have your voice heard, share your story with us.

Stories can be short or long, anonymous or not, and may be used in the Asthma Foundation’s materials such as publications, newsletters and on our website.
