Former World Health Organisation (WHO) Commissioner, Professor Fran Baum will be key note speaker at 'Taking the Pulse', a health reform conference in Brisbane on March 20.
Prof. Baum is Australia's leading researcher on the social and economic determinants of health. She is Co-Chair of the People's Health Movement and served as Commissioner on the WHO's Commission on the Social Determinants of Health from 2005-2008.
Deputy CEO of Metro North Brisbane Medicare Local said Prof. Baum will speak on the most effective ways of addressing inequality in health, based on global experience and research.
"This is the biggest event on our calendar and we are thrilled to have such an eminent speaker present," Mr Cheverton said.
"We have had a very strong response from local health providers and this indicates community interest in national health reform is high."
Registration for the conference is free for health consumers, community members, carers and volunteers. The conference is an excellent opportunity for networking, partnering, and developing solutions to meet the demands of a changing health and community services environment.
The 'Taking the Pulse' conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank on Wednesday 20 March.
Asthma Foundation Queensland is looking forward to being involved with our partners, Metro North Brisbane Medicare Local at this event and will be taking part in conference exhibition with an educational display.
