Residents of Wynnum in Queensland have reason to celebrate after a local resident was recently awarded an Asthma Foundation Queensland PhD Scholarship using funds raised through retail sales from the Asthma Foundation Wynnum Op Shop.
In an ongoing commitment to promoting innovation and excellence in asthma research, Asthma Foundation Queensland awarded Khang, from Wynnum a three year $105,000 scholarship to investigate how asthma can be improved using bone marrow-derived stem cells.
Each year the Foundation raises over $300,000 from its Art Union and Op Shops to fund local research projects which improve the lives of people with asthma both in Queensland and throughout the world.
