FAQs
Can I apply for more than 1 grant?
a) in different categories
b) in the same category
a) Yes in theory if you meet the criteria. However it’s very unlikely that anyone would meet the criteria for both a New Investigator and an Innovation grant for example. There is no reason why someone who has applied for a PhD scholarship should not be named as a co-investigator on another grant and there is no reason why someone who is named as Principal Investigator on one grant cannot appear as a co-investigator on another.
b) It is highly unlikely that any investigator as named chief investigator or co-investigator would be successful in more than both applications. Therefore multiple applications are discouraged.
Does the project have to be based in NSW?
Normally all projects must be based in NSW or ACT. However if for example, a researcher based at a NSW institution has a valid reason for carrying out work in another location then this should not discount their application.
I’m working in Australia on a visa that is valid for another 4 years and I’m working in a NSW university, can I still apply?
Unfortunately not. The grant conditions specifically state that only Australian Permanent Residents or Australian citizens are eligible to apply for Asthma Foundation grants.
The closing date for applications is Friday 6th August. Is this for both electronic and hard copies of applications?
One copy of your application MUST be received by 5pm on Friday 6th August 2010. However, if we receive the electronic copy of your application by that deadline we will accept an identical hard copy the following week as long as you have informed us of this in advance.
Is there any limit to the size of my application?
There are clear limits noted on the application form, including minimum font size and size of margins. Anything in excess of these limits will not be considered in the assessment of your application. We recommend that your application is submitted in pdf format as this will compress the file. We cannot receive files which are greater than 5MB in size and we will not be aware if large files are quarantined.
